Damageplan
Damageplan was an American heavy metal band formed in 2003 by brothers Dimebag Darrell and Vinnie Paul Abbott. The band emerged following the dissolution of their previous group, Pantera. Alongside the Abbott brothers, the lineup featured guitarist Stephen Carpenter and vocalist Patrick Lachman. Damageplan released their debut album, New Found Power, in 2004, which showcased a blend of groove metal and modern metal influences. The album received a generally positive reception from critics and fans alike. The band embarked on tours to support the album, gaining a dedicated following. Tragically, Dimebag Darrell was murdered on stage during a Damageplan concert in Columbus, Ohio, on December 8, 2004. This devastating event effectively ended the band's career. Vinnie Paul Abbott later went on to form Hellyeah. Damageplan is remembered for its powerful live performances and the significant legacy of Dimebag Darrell's guitar playing.
