Dalvíkurbyggð

Dalvíkurbyggð is a municipality located in northern Iceland, established on June 7, 1998. It was formed by the union of the town of Dalvík and the rural district of Svarfaðardalshreppur. The municipality is situated on the western shore of the Eyjafjörður fjord, approximately 45 kilometers north of Akureyri.

The area is characterized by its mountainous surroundings, with the Ólafsfjarðarmúli mountain to the west and the majestic peaks of the Tröllaskagi peninsula dominating the landscape. The main settlement, Dalvík, is a fishing town and a significant hub for the region.
