DSPtechnieken refers to the set of methods and algorithms used in Digital Signal Processing. This field focuses on manipulating and analyzing signals, which are typically represented as a sequence of numbers, to extract meaningful information or to modify their characteristics. At its core, DSP involves converting analog signals (like sound waves or electrical voltages) into digital form, processing these digital representations, and then potentially converting them back into an analog form.

Key DSP techniques include sampling, which is the process of converting a continuous-time signal into a discrete-time signal by taking measurements at regular intervals. Quantization follows, where the amplitude of each sample is approximated to a finite number of discrete values. Filtering is another fundamental technique, used to remove unwanted frequencies from a signal or to enhance specific frequency components. Common filter types include low-pass, high-pass, band-pass, and band-stop filters, implemented using various digital filter designs.

Transformations like the Fourier Transform are central to DSP, allowing signals to be analyzed in the frequency domain. The Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) is an efficient algorithm for computing the Discrete Fourier Transform. Other important techniques include correlation, convolution, and modulation/demodulation, each serving distinct purposes in signal analysis and manipulation. These techniques find widespread application in areas such as audio and image processing, telecommunications, medical imaging, and control systems.
