DNSszakasz

DNSszakasz is a Hungarian term used in information technology to refer to a stage in the processing of a Domain Name System (DNS) query. In this sense, a DNSszakasz denotes the portion of the resolution workflow where a resolver forwards queries, receives referrals, performs iterative or recursive lookups, and ultimately assembles a DNS answer. The term is not a formal RFC designation but a descriptive label common in Hungarian technical literature and training materials.

In practice, the DNS resolution process consists of multiple steps that can be described as DNSszakasz. It begins with a client query sent to a recursive resolver, which may perform recursion or delegation. If needed, the resolver queries root servers, then top-level domain (TLD) servers, and finally authoritative name servers for the requested domain. At each step, responses may include referrals to other servers and cached information. The caching stage is part of the DNSszakasz, as it affects future lookups by storing previously retrieved records and reducing latency. Negative responses (NXDOMAIN) are also handled during the same phase.

Security considerations may be included in a DNSszakasz description, such as validating responses with DNSSEC or protecting against spoofing via DNS over TLS or DNS over HTTPS.
