DNAkromosomit

DNAkromosomit is a term that combines "DNA," the molecule carrying genetic instructions, and "kromosomit," the structures within cells that organize and package DNA. Essentially, DNAkromosomit refers to the physical form of DNA within a cell, which is highly organized into discrete units called chromosomes.

These chromosomes are made of a complex of DNA tightly coiled around proteins called histones. This coiling allows the vast amount of genetic material, which would otherwise be too long to fit inside the cell nucleus, to be neatly packaged. The number and structure of DNAkromosomit are specific to each species. Humans, for example, have 23 pairs of DNAkromosomit, totaling 46.

During cell division, DNAkromosomit play a crucial role in ensuring that each new cell receives an accurate copy of the genetic information. Before a cell divides, its DNAkromosomit are replicated, and then these duplicated chromosomes are precisely segregated into the daughter cells.
