Cubeds

Cubeds refers to the mathematical operation of raising a number to the power of three. This is equivalent to multiplying a number by itself twice. For example, the cube of 2 is 2 x 2 x 2, which equals 8. Similarly, the cube of 5 is 5 x 5 x 5, resulting in 125. The notation for cubing a number is to place a superscript '3' after the number, such as 2³ or 5³.

This operation is fundamental in geometry, as the volume of a cube with side length 's' is calculated by cubing the side length, V = s³. Cubing can also be applied to negative numbers. The cube of a negative number is always negative. For example, the cube of -2 is (-2) x (-2) x (-2), which equals -8. This is because multiplying two negative numbers results in a positive number, and multiplying that positive result by another negative number yields a negative result. The concept of cubing extends to fractions, decimals, and even more complex mathematical entities like matrices, though the interpretation and calculation may vary. The inverse operation of cubing is taking the cube root, which finds the number that, when cubed, produces the original number.
