Csillagképekkel refers to constellations, which are recognized patterns of stars in the night sky. Throughout history, various cultures have identified and named these patterns, often associating them with mythological figures, animals, or objects. While the stars within a constellation appear close together from Earth, they are usually vastly distant from each other in three-dimensional space. The International Astronomical Union (IAU) currently recognizes 88 official constellations, which cover the entire celestial sphere.

The appearance of constellations changes throughout the year due to Earth's orbit around the Sun and its axial tilt. Some constellations are visible only during certain seasons or from specific hemispheres. The brightest stars in a constellation often form a recognizable shape, which is what leads to its naming. However, the official boundaries of constellations extend beyond these bright stars to encompass entire areas of the sky. Studying constellations can provide insights into human history, culture, and our place in the cosmos.
