Csigolyaívhoz refers to the vertebral arch, a crucial part of a vertebra. Each vertebra typically consists of a vertebral body and a vertebral arch. The vertebral arch is formed by a pair of pedicles and a pair of laminae. The pedicles project posteriorly from the sides of the vertebral body, and the laminae fuse in the midline to form the spinous process.

The vertebral arch encloses the vertebral foramen, and when the vertebrae are articulated, these foramina align to form the vertebral canal. This canal protects the spinal cord. The vertebral arch also serves as an attachment point for muscles of the back and ligaments that stabilize the vertebral column.

The spinous process, projecting from the posterior aspect of the vertebral arch, is a palpable landmark and provides leverage for back muscles. The transverse processes, which arise from the junction of the pedicles and laminae, extend laterally and posteriorly, serving as attachment sites for muscles and contributing to the stability of the spine. The superior and inferior articular processes, also part of the vertebral arch, articulate with adjacent vertebrae, forming the facet joints. These joints guide and limit movement within the vertebral column.
