Coors

Coors is an American beer brand produced by Molson Coors Beverage Company. It is best known for Coors Banquet, an amber lager, and Coors Light, a light beer. The brand originated in Golden, Colorado, with the Coors Brewing Company founded by Adolph Coors in 1873.

The Coors brewery in Golden built its reputation on lager beer using water sourced from the Rocky Mountains. After the repeal of Prohibition, Coors expanded distribution beyond Colorado and developed a national market. Coors Banquet has been a core offering since the early years, and Coors Light was introduced in 1978 as a lighter alternative.

In 2005, Molson and Coors merged to form Molson Coors Brewing Company. The company later reorganized as Molson Coors Beverage Company in 2020, with the Coors brand continuing to be produced at multiple facilities in the United States and internationally. It remains one of the better-known American beer brands and is distributed in several countries, although availability varies by market.
