Commuttiivinen

Commuttiivinen is a term that sometimes appears in Finnish-language mathematical writing as a variant spelling or informal reference to the standard concept kommutatiivinen, meaning commutativity. In formal Finnish terminology the property is usually called kommutatiivisuus, and a binary operation is described as kommutatiivinen if swapping its arguments does not change the result.

Formal definition: Let X be a set and ∘ a binary operation on X. The operation is commuttiivinen if a ∘ b = b ∘ a for all a, b in X.
