Commius
Commius was a chieftain of the Atrebates, a Belgic tribe who inhabited the region of northern Gaul (modern-day France). He is primarily known for his interactions with the Roman Republic, particularly during Julius Caesar's Gallic Wars. Initially, Commius held a position of authority under Caesar and was sent as an envoy to Britain in 55 BC. He played a role in negotiating with the Britons prior to Caesar's first invasion.
During the subsequent campaigns in Gaul, Commius continued to be a Roman ally and was even appointed
