Cisleithanias
Cisleithania was the Austrian portion of the Dual Monarchy of Austria-Hungary, a sovereign state that existed from 1867 to 1918. The name "Cisleithania" derived from the Leitha River, which formed a portion of the administrative boundary between the Austrian and Hungarian halves of the empire. Its territory encompassed a vast and diverse collection of lands in Central Europe, including present-day Austria, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia, parts of Poland, Ukraine, and Italy. Vienna served as its capital and the seat of government.
The political structure of Cisleithania was characterized by a complex arrangement of nationalities and administrative divisions.
