Chubais
Anatoly Borisovich Chubais (born December 16, 1955) is a Russian economist and reformist politician who played a central role in Russia’s transition from a planned economy to a market-based system following the dissolution of the Soviet Union. Born in Novocherkassk, he rose to prominence in the early 1990s as the head of the State Property Committee, where he directed the privatization of state assets, including the voucher privatization program and loans-for-shares auctions that redistributed ownership of many large enterprises.
