Celrespiratie

Celrespiratie is a biological process that occurs in the cells of living organisms. It is the mechanism by which cells convert nutrients, such as glucose, into energy in the form of adenosine triphosphate (ATP). This energy is essential for all cellular activities, including growth, movement, and reproduction.

The process of celrespiratie is complex and involves several stages. It begins with glycolysis, which occurs in the cytoplasm of the cell. During glycolysis, glucose is broken down into pyruvate, producing a small amount of ATP. If oxygen is present, pyruvate then enters the mitochondria, the powerhouses of the cell.
