Cadmiumpigmente
Cadmiumpigmente (cadmium pigments) are inorganic pigments based on cadmium compounds. The most common forms are cadmium sulfide (CdS), which yields yellow hues, and mixtures such as cadmium sulfide–selenide (CdSSe) or cadmium selenide (CdSe), which produce orange to red tones. They are valued for bright chroma, high tinting strength, good opacity, and exceptional lightfastness.
Historically developed in the 19th century, cadmiumpigmente have been widely used in artists’ paints as well
