COkoncentrációk, or carbon monoxide concentrations, refer to the amount of carbon monoxide (CO) present in a given volume of air. Carbon monoxide is a colorless, odorless, and tasteless gas that is toxic to humans and animals when inhaled in high concentrations. It is produced by the incomplete combustion of carbon-containing materials, such as wood, coal, oil, and gasoline.

COkoncentrációk are typically measured in parts per million (ppm) or milligrams per cubic meter (mg/m3). The World Health Organization (WHO) recommends that the 8-hour average CO concentration should not exceed 9 ppm (9 mg/m3) for general population and 35 ppm (35 mg/m3) for workers. In the United States, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has set a permissible exposure limit of 50 ppm (50 mg/m3) for an 8-hour workday.

High COkoncentrációk can cause symptoms such as headache, dizziness, weakness, nausea, vomiting, and in severe cases, loss of consciousness and death. Prolonged exposure to high COkoncentrációk can lead to chronic health effects, including heart disease and reduced life expectancy.

To prevent exposure to high COkoncentrációk, it is important to ensure proper ventilation in areas where combustion occurs, such as homes, workplaces, and vehicles. Regular maintenance of heating systems, appliances, and vehicles can also help prevent the buildup of CO. Carbon monoxide detectors are recommended for homes and workplaces to provide early warning of high COkoncentrációk.
