CMIPprojekteissa refers to projects that are part of the Coupled Model Intercomparison Project. CMIP is an international collaborative framework for advancing our understanding of climate change. This standardization allows for rigorous comparison and evaluation of different climate models, highlighting their strengths, weaknesses, and areas of agreement and disagreement.

The primary goal of CMIP projects is to provide a coordinated assessment of the response of the climate system to increased greenhouse gas concentrations and other forcing agents. This is achieved by conducting a series of climate model simulations under various scenarios, representing different future pathways of emissions and radiative forcing. The data generated through CMIP projects is publicly accessible and serves as a crucial resource for the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) assessment reports, which inform global climate policy.
