CCR5CXCR4
CCR5CXCR4 refers to the combined expression and function of two chemokine receptors, CCR5 and CXCR4, on the surface of cells. These receptors are crucial components of the immune system, particularly in the trafficking and activation of T cells. Chemokines are small signaling proteins that guide cell movement, and CCR5 and CXCR4 are targeted by specific chemokines, namely CCL5 (regulated on activation normal T cell expressed and secreted) and CXCL12 (C-X-C motif chemokine ligand 12), respectively.
The expression of CCR5 and CXCR4 is a key factor in determining the tropism of certain viruses,
Beyond HIV, CCR5 and CXCR4 play roles in other physiological and pathological processes. They are involved
