Buzaniin

Buzaniin is a constructed language created for a speculative fiction setting. It is spoken by the fictional Buzan people of the archipelago known as the Shattered Sea and appears in novels, tabletop games, and related media since its introduction in the early 2010s. As a conlang, it aims to feel authentic within its world while remaining fully describable in linguistic terms.

Buzaniin is described as agglutinative with a default SOV word order. It uses affixes to mark tense, aspect, mood, voice, and evidentiality, and employs noun cases. First-person pronouns distinguish inclusive and exclusive forms. While surface order can vary, case marking preserves meaning.

Phonology features five vowels and about 20–25 consonants, including stops, fricatives, nasals, and liquids. The primary writing system is the Buzan Script, a syllabary used with a Latin transliteration for learners.

In-world use is supported by dictionaries and grammars created for fans. Buzaniin remains a fictional language, though it has a dedicated online community that studies its structure and expands its lexicon through media and fan projects.
