Steve Buscemi (born December 13, 1957) is an American actor, filmmaker, and writer known for a wide range of film and television work. He gained prominence in independent cinema and has worked frequently with directors such as the Coen brothers and Martin Scorsese. His film roles include Reservoir Dogs (1992), Fargo (1996), and The Big Lebowski (1998). He voices Randall Boggs in the animated film Monsters, Inc. (2001) and has appeared in numerous other productions. On television, he starred as Enoch "Nucky" Thompson in Boardwalk Empire (2010–2014), a role for which he received critical acclaim and several award nominations. He has directed feature films, including Trees Lounge (1996) and Lonesome Jim (2005). His acting work spans comedy and drama, and he has remained active in both film and television.
