Brændstofledningen, often translated as fuel line, is a crucial component in internal combustion engine vehicles. It refers to the network of pipes and hoses that transport fuel from the storage tank to the engine. This system is essential for the continuous operation of the engine, ensuring a steady supply of fuel for combustion.

The fuel line system typically includes several key parts. The fuel tank, usually located at the rear of the vehicle, stores the gasoline or diesel. From the tank, a fuel pump, often submerged within the tank or mounted externally, draws the fuel and pressurizes it. This pressurized fuel then travels through the fuel lines, which are usually made of durable rubber or metal tubing to withstand fuel pressure and prevent leaks. Before reaching the engine, the fuel often passes through a fuel filter, which removes impurities that could damage engine components or clog injectors. Finally, the fuel lines connect to the fuel injection system or carburetor, where the fuel is precisely metered and mixed with air for combustion.

Modern vehicles employ sophisticated fuel line systems that often include return lines, which send excess fuel back to the tank, helping to regulate fuel pressure and temperature. The integrity of the fuel line is paramount for vehicle safety and performance. Leaks can lead to fuel loss, fire hazards, and poor engine operation. Regular inspection and maintenance of the fuel line system are therefore recommended to ensure its proper functioning and to prevent potential problems.
