Bronzevåben

Bronzevåben refers to a type of weapon that originated during the Bronze Age, roughly spanning from 2800 to 1200 BCE. This period marked a significant transformation in human history, as people transitioned from using copper and stone tools to exploiting a new alloy, bronze, created by combining copper with tin.

Characterized by their pronounced patina, bronze weapons showcased a strategic and artistic approach to combat. Typically forged through a labor-intensive process, they comprised complex arrays of curves and angles. The geometry of these arms suggests that they must have had heavily guard-speared handles for balance. Nonetheless, tools or handles from the same period have not yet been recognized.

Brass-headed bronze arms are sometimes recognized from shapes woven throughout slabs in Kustvik graveyard. One burials has brass arms using turned guns and swords found with needle-gilded cut-ins.
