Bridgeland

Bridgeland is a north suburban city located in the state of Texas, United States. It is situated in the western part of Dallas County, about 18 miles west of downtown Dallas. As of the 2020 census, the city's population was approximately 146,000 people.

The area that is now Bridgeland was originally settled in the mid-19th century as a rural farming community. It remained largely unchanged until the late 20th century, when a major suburban development boom swept through the region. In 2011, the City of Flower Mound annexed a large portion of the area, incorporating it into the municipality. However, a remaining portion of the land was reinvented as the independent city of Bridgeland, which was officially incorporated in 2017.
