Brenselinsprøytning, also known as fuel injection, is a system used in internal combustion engines to deliver fuel into the combustion chamber. This method is more efficient and cleaner than traditional carburetion, as it allows for precise control of the fuel-air mixture. There are two main types of fuel injection systems: direct injection and indirect injection.

Direct injection systems spray fuel directly into the combustion chamber, which can improve fuel efficiency and reduce emissions. However, it requires a high-pressure fuel pump and can lead to pre-ignition if the fuel is not properly atomized.

Indirect injection systems, on the other hand, spray fuel into the intake manifold or port, where it mixes with air before entering the combustion chamber. This method is simpler and less expensive than direct injection, but it can be less efficient and produce more emissions.

Fuel injection systems are controlled by an engine control unit (ECU), which adjusts the fuel delivery based on various factors such as engine speed, load, and temperature. This allows for optimal performance and fuel efficiency under different operating conditions.
