Borçluluun

Borçluluun is a fictional town and municipality in the highland region of Veridia, a country in the northern part of the continent.

Located in a valley beside the Burç River, it is framed by terraced fields and pine forests. The toponym borçluluun reflects Turkic linguistic influence in the region.

Historically, Borçluluun was established in the 14th century by agrarian communities and grew as a river crossing. A wooden bridge built in the early 17th century linked markets and helped trade.

As of the latest fictional census, the population is about 9,500. The economy centers on agriculture—especially grains and orchard fruit—alongside small-scale textile crafts and services for nearby towns.

The town is governed by an elected mayor and municipal council within Veridia’s regional framework. It has one primary school, one secondary school, and a modest health clinic.

Cultural life centers on an annual harvest festival in autumn. Notable landmarks include the Borçluluun Bridge, the Old Mosque dating to the 16th century, and a historic town square.
