BorkouEnnediTibesti
BorkouEnnediTibesti is a former region of Chad, established in 2000 and dissolved in 2008. It was one of the country's 18 former regions, formed by the division of the larger Borkou-Ennedi-Tibesti Prefecture. The region encompassed a vast and sparsely populated desert area in northern Chad. Its geography was dominated by the Sahara Desert, featuring extensive sand dunes, rocky plateaus, and the imposing Tibesti Mountains, the highest range in Chad.
The region's administrative center was Faya-Largeau. Historically, the area has been inhabited by nomadic and semi-nomadic
In 2008, Chad underwent a further administrative reorganization, and BorkouEnnediTibesti was divided into three new regions:
