Bookchinia
Bookchinia is a genus of flowering plants in the family Asteraceae. It is native to China. The genus contains a single species, Bookchinia potentillifolia, which is a perennial herb. It has pinnately compound leaves and produces yellow daisy-like flowers in summer. Bookchinia potentillifolia is found in alpine meadows and rocky slopes at altitudes of 2,000 to 3,000 meters. The plant is characterized by its hairy stems and leaves, and its relatively small flower heads. It is a member of the tribe Senecioneae within the Asteraceae family. Information regarding its specific ecological role or any traditional uses is limited in readily available literature. Further research may be needed to fully understand its properties and distribution within its native habitat. The genus name honors the botanist and explorer Charles Bookchin.
