Bogertia

Bogert. As of 2023, there are two recognized species in the genus Bogertia: Bogertia insignis and Bogertia macrocarpa.

Bogertia plants are typically shrubs or small trees, with simple, alternate leaves. The flowers are small, white or pink, and are arranged in axillary or terminal inflorescences. The fruit is a capsule, containing one or two seeds.

Bogertia insignis is native to the Amazon rainforest, while Bogertia macrocarpa is found in the Atlantic Forest of Brazil. Both species are threatened by habitat loss due to deforestation and agriculture.
