Bitirdiler

Bitirdiler is a Turkish verb form meaning “they finished” or “they have finished” in the simple past tense with a plural subject. It derives from the verb bitir- (to finish, to complete) and is formed by adding the past tense suffix -di and the third-person plural suffix -ler, resulting in bitirdi + ler -> bitirdiler. The form is standard Turkish and appears in everyday speech as well as written language, including news and literature.

Usage notes: Bitirdiler is transitive and used when the subject is plural. It describes a completed action

- Raporu bitirdiler. (They finished the report.)

- Projeyi bitirdiler ve yeni planlar yaptılar. (They finished the project and made new plans.)

Related forms: Turkish conjugation of bitirmek yields other person-number forms such as bitirdim (I finished), bitirdin
