Biofotosensorit

Biofotosensorit, also known as biosensors, are analytical devices that combine a biological component with a physicochemical detector. The biological component, often an enzyme, antibody, or microorganism, recognizes and binds to a specific analyte. This binding event triggers a change that is then detected and transduced into a measurable signal by the physicochemical detector. The signal is proportional to the concentration of the analyte in the sample.

The principle of operation involves several key steps. First, the analyte interacts with the biorecognition element, leading to a specific binding or catalytic reaction. This interaction causes a physical or chemical change, such as a change in optical properties (absorbance, fluorescence), mass, electrical conductivity, or heat. The transducer then converts this change into an electrical or optical signal. Finally, a signal processing unit amplifies and analyzes the signal, displaying the result in a user-readable format.
