Biesme

Biesme is a village and former municipality in the province of Namur, Wallonia, Belgium. It is part of the municipality of Sambreville. The village is situated in the Arches region, known for its agricultural landscape. Historically, Biesme was an independent commune before its integration into the larger Sambreville entity in 1977.

The area around Biesme has a history of human settlement dating back centuries. Archaeological findings suggest activity in the region from prehistoric times. Like many rural Belgian communities, Biesme's economy was traditionally based on agriculture. Over time, as with much of Wallonia, industrialization and economic shifts have influenced the local landscape and population.
