Bemorlarning

Bemorlarning is an Uzbek grammatical form that marks possession or association with a plural noun. It is formed by adding the plural suffix -lar to bemor (patient) to make bemorlar (patients), and then adding the genitive/possessive suffix -ning to indicate “of the patients” or “the patients’.” Thus the full form bemorlarning literally means “of the patients.”

This construction is used to indicate ownership or relation to a group of patients in noun phrases. For example, bemorlarning sog‘ligi means “the patients’ health,” bemorlarning kasalliklari means “the patients’ illnesses,” and bemorlarning davolanish yo‘llari means “the patients’ treatment methods.” It can also function as the possessor in phrases such as bemorlarning klinikasi, “the patients’ clinic,” or bemorlarning shikoyatlari, “the patients’ complaints.”

Related forms include bemorning, the singular possessive form meaning “the patient’s” or “of the patient.” The general pattern in Uzbek is to form possessive phrases by combining the relevant number form (singular bemor or plural bemorlar) with the genitive suffix -ning, with -lar serving to mark the plural where needed.

In usage, bemorlarning appears in medical, academic, and administrative Uzbek to attribute characteristics, actions, or holdings to a group of patients. Its neutral, formal tone makes it common in reports, statistics, and clinical documentation, as well as in explanatory text about patient groups or cohort studies.
