Barrowford

Barrowford is a village and civil parish in Lancashire, England. It forms part of the Pendle borough and lies to the east of Colne and north of Nelson, in the Calder valley near the foothills of the Pennines. The parish is largely rural with a small residential core around the canal.

Historically, Barrowford developed from farming and small-scale textile work; during the Industrial Revolution the canal and related mills contributed to growth. The Leeds and Liverpool Canal runs through the village, and Barrowford Locks mark the canal's ascent in this area. The canal corridor remains a feature of the local landscape and recreation.
