Bapounou
Bapounou is a term with origins in Central Africa, particularly associated with the Mongo people of the Democratic Republic of Congo. It refers to a type of traditional drum, characterized by its elongated shape and often made from a hollowed-out log. The skin, typically animal hide, is stretched tightly over one end to produce sound. Bapounou drums are played by striking the stretched skin with hands or sticks.
