Bamenda
Bamenda is a city in Cameroon, located in the Northwest Region. It serves as the administrative capital of both the Northwest Region and the Mezam Department. The city is situated on a plateau at an elevation of approximately 1,200 meters (3,900 feet) above sea level. This elevated position contributes to its cooler climate compared to coastal regions of Cameroon.
The population of Bamenda is diverse, comprising various ethnic groups, with the Tikar people being prominent.
Historically, Bamenda has been an important center for administration and trade. It was a key location during
