BaltoFinnic
BaltoFinnic refers to a subgroup of the Finnic languages, which themselves are part of the larger Uralic language family. This group includes languages spoken by Balto-Finnic peoples primarily in the Baltic region and parts of Russia. The most prominent Balto-Finnic languages are Estonian, Finnish, and Karelian. Other languages in the group include Veps, Votic, Ingrian, Livonian, and Sámi languages. While there are distinct differences between these languages, they share a common ancestor and exhibit significant lexical and grammatical similarities.
