Backflowventiler

Backflowventiler, also known as backflow preventers or check valves, are devices used to prevent contaminated water from flowing back into a clean water supply. Backflowventiler work by allowing water to flow in one direction only, typically from the public water supply to the building, and preventing it from flowing back into the supply in case of a drop in pressure or backflow condition.

RPP valves reduce the pressure in the plumbing system to below the pressure of the public water supply, preventing backflow. AVBs allow air to enter the system during a drop in pressure, which displaces the contaminated water. Double check valves use two check valves in series to provide an additional layer of protection.

Backflowventiler are required by law in many jurisdictions to protect public water supplies from contamination. They are typically installed at the point where the building's water supply connects to the public water main.
