Function and mandate: An Ausschussteil typically has a defined mandate, scope, and duration. It may be appointed by the main committee and chaired by a member of that committee. Its work includes evaluating issues, drafting reports, gathering information, and presenting conclusions to the full committee. Decisions or recommendations usually require endorsement by the main committee.
