Atomtömegei, meaning "atomic masses" in Hungarian, refers to the mass of an atom. This mass is primarily determined by the number of protons and neutrons within the atom's nucleus, collectively known as nucleons. Electrons also contribute to the atom's mass, but their contribution is significantly smaller due to their much lower mass compared to protons and neutrons.

The atomic mass unit (amu) is a standard unit used to express the mass of atoms and molecules. One amu is defined as one-twelfth of the mass of an unbound neutral atom of carbon-12 in its ground state. This unit provides a convenient way to compare the relative masses of different atoms.
