Atmosfääriõhu

Atmosfääriõhu refers to the layer of gases that surrounds a planet and is held in place by its gravity. In the case of Earth, this is the air we breathe. The Earth's atmosphere is primarily composed of nitrogen (about 78%) and oxygen (about 21%), with smaller amounts of argon, carbon dioxide, and trace gases. This mixture is crucial for life on Earth, providing the oxygen necessary for respiration and protecting the planet from harmful solar radiation.

The atmosphere is not uniform; it is divided into several layers, each with distinct temperature and pressure characteristics. The lowest layer, the troposphere, is where most weather phenomena occur and where we live. Above this is the stratosphere, which contains the ozone layer that absorbs much of the Sun's ultraviolet radiation. Higher still are the mesosphere, thermosphere, and exosphere, with the latter gradually merging into outer space.

The composition of the atmosphere can be influenced by natural processes, such as volcanic eruptions and biological activity, as well as human activities, notably industrial emissions and deforestation. Changes in atmospheric composition, particularly the increase of greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide, are a major concern due to their role in climate change. Understanding atmosfääriõhu is therefore essential for comprehending Earth's climate system and the impact of human actions on the planet.
