Asumisoikeusjärjestelmässä, often translated as the right-of-occupancy system, is a housing model primarily found in Finland. It aims to provide an alternative to both renting and outright home ownership. Under this system, individuals acquire a right of occupancy for an apartment by paying a one-time, interest-free right-of-occupancy payment. This payment is a significant portion of the apartment's construction cost but is not considered ownership of the property itself.
