Aspasia
Aspasia of Miletus (c. 470–400 BCE) was a prominent figure in classical Athens, known for her education, wit, and social influence. Born in Ionia, she moved to Athens as a metic and became the partner of the statesman Pericles. Although not a citizen, she is described in ancient sources as the hostess of gatherings that attracted philosophers, poets, and orators, contributing to the cultural milieu of the Athenian Golden Age.
