Askelsyöttöön
Askelsyöttöön, a Finnish term, translates directly to "step-in" or "stepping in" and refers to a specific action within certain sports and activities. Its most common application is in ice hockey, where it describes a defensive maneuver where a player intentionally moves their skates forward to block or intercept a pass or shot. This is a risky play as it can leave the player vulnerable to dekes or penalties if executed improperly. The goal of an askelsyöttöön is to disrupt the opponent's offensive flow by breaking up a play before it becomes a scoring chance.
