Asendusmeetod, also known as the substitution method, is a fundamental algebraic technique used to solve systems of equations. It is particularly useful when one of the variables in an equation can be easily isolated. The core principle involves expressing one variable in terms of another within one equation and then substituting this expression into the other equation. This substitution reduces the system of two equations with two unknowns to a single equation with a single unknown, which can then be solved.

Once the value of the first variable is found, it is substituted back into either of the original equations or the rearranged equation to determine the value of the second variable. This process yields the solution for the system, typically represented as an ordered pair of values (x, y).
