Anhilwad, also known as Anhilpur or in ancient times as Anhilpur Patan, was a historically significant city in Gujarat, India. It served as the capital of the Solanki dynasty, also known as the Chalukya dynasty of Gujarat, for several centuries, from the 8th to the 13th century CE. The city was founded by Vanraj Chavda, the first ruler of the Chavda dynasty, in 745 CE and was named after his friend and minister, Anhil.
