AndromedaMilky
AndromedaMilky is a term used to describe the ongoing collision between the Andromeda Galaxy and the Milky Way Galaxy. This event is part of a larger process known as galactic cannibalism, where smaller galaxies are absorbed by larger ones. The Andromeda Galaxy, also known as Messier 31 or M31, is a spiral galaxy similar to the Milky Way, located approximately 2.5 million light-years away in the constellation Andromeda. The two galaxies are moving towards each other at a speed of about 110 kilometers per second. This collision is expected to occur in about 4.5 billion years. The gravitational interaction between the two galaxies has already begun to distort their shapes, and stars from both galaxies are expected to collide and form new stars. The resulting galaxy, often referred to as Milkomeda, is predicted to be an elliptical galaxy. This event is a significant one in the history of the universe, as it will dramatically alter the structure and dynamics of both galaxies.
