Andriscus
Andriscus, also known as Pseudophilippos, was a pretender to the Macedonian throne who led a revolt against the Roman Republic in the mid-2nd century BCE. Claiming descent from the Antigonid dynasty, he emerged in the aftermath of the Third Macedonian War, a conflict that had effectively ended Macedonian independence. Andriscus gained significant support among disgruntled Macedonians and Thracian tribes, who saw him as a potential restorer of their kingdom.
