Amplituudivõimendus refers to the process of increasing the amplitude of a signal. In electronics, this is typically achieved using an amplifier circuit. Amplifiers are designed to take an input signal, which might be weak or too small for a particular application, and produce an output signal that has a larger amplitude but retains the same waveform. This is crucial in many fields, including audio systems, radio communications, and sensor instrumentation, where signals need to be strengthened to be processed or transmitted effectively.

The degree to which an amplifier increases the amplitude is known as its gain.
