Amplitudimoduloidulla

Amplitudimoduloidulla is a Finnish term that translates to "amplitude modulated" in English. It refers to a technique used in radio transmission where the amplitude of a carrier wave is varied in accordance with the instantaneous amplitude of the message signal. This process, known as amplitude modulation (AM), is one of the earliest and simplest forms of modulation.

In AM, the carrier wave is a high-frequency radio wave, and the message signal is a lower-frequency audio signal or other information. The amplitude of the carrier wave is changed in proportion to the amplitude of the message signal. When the message signal's amplitude increases, the carrier wave's amplitude also increases, and when the message signal's amplitude decreases, the carrier wave's amplitude decreases. This variation in amplitude carries the information.

At the receiving end, a radio receiver detects these amplitude variations and demodulates the signal to recover the original message. AM is widely used for broadcast radio, particularly for AM radio stations. Its advantages include simple transmitter and receiver designs, making it cost-effective. However, AM is susceptible to noise and interference, which can affect the quality of the received signal.
