Amplatzersarjat
Amplatzersarjat refers to a series of cardiac occluders developed by Dr. Kurt Amplatz. These devices are used in interventional cardiology to close abnormal openings in the heart, primarily septal defects. The original Amplatzersjat was designed for the closure of atrial septal defects (ASDs), a condition where there is a hole between the two upper chambers of the heart. Over time, variations of the Amplatzersjat were developed for other conditions, including ventricular septal defects (VSDs) and patent ductus arteriosus (PDA).
The Amplatzersjat is a self-expanding nitinol mesh device that is delivered through a catheter. Once in place,
